IJP was instructed to represent commercial developers on a major s.78 planning appeal on land in Buxton.
The appeal related to the decision by High Peak Borough Council to refuse planning permission for a mineral water bottling plant in a disused quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire. The proposals represented substantial economic development for the area exploiting the use of a rare mineral water spring in the Peak District.
The proposals were complicated by a number of on-site constraints including ancient woodland, a scheduled ancient monument, tree preservation orders and the need for sustantial engineering workd on the edge of a National Park.
The project Brief included:
Coordination of the appeal
Instructions to Counsel
Preparation of an Environmental Statement Addendum
Expert witness evidence
